The recently ordained Interfaith Ministers from the Seminary faculty in Manchester invited our friends, supporters and enquirers to a special service at Gorton Monastery in east Manchester on Saturday 4 October.

This service of thanksgiving and celebration had a theme of 'Light'.  It included mediation, reading, ritual, chant and devotion drawing upon a wide range of spiritual traditions from around the world.  Around 75 people attended the service.  The Monastery of St Francis in Gorton proved to be a wonderful venue.  The restored Victorian gothic building is a major landmark in Manchester: the high space of the church with its semi-ruined stone altar wall was  wonderfully lit by candles, the cloisters were a peaceful meeting place, and the function rooms were used for serving tea and refreshments after the service.
